Mohamed Moriba, a politician, former military officer, and Southern Province Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the All People’s Congress (APC), has made another court appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown on a charge of incitement contrary to law.
According to the particulars of offence, on Saturday, 27 December 2025, at Kamalo Village in the Karina Judicial District, North-East Province of the Republic of Sierra Leone, the accused allegedly created an audio and video recording containing inciting messages intended to cause mayhem, disorder, chaos, and unrest in the country.
The prosecution further alleged that the content was later published on a TikTok account known as “Salone Gossip Hub.”
When the charge was read and explained to the defendant, no plea was taken.
Lead defence counsel, A. Bangura Esq., applied for an adjournment, stating that the defence team needed adequate time to review the materials disclosed by the prosecution, including the contents of a flash drive. Counsel further informed the court of their intention to engage the services of an IT expert to determine whether the digital evidence had been tampered with.
Magistrate Fornah granted the defence application and remanded the accused to the male correctional facility in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to 25 February 2026 for further hearing.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant Superintendent of Police Dialla Wellington.
