Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, has concluded a working visit to Ghana with a high-level courtesy meeting with his counterpart, Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, during which both leaders reaffirmed the strong bilateral relations between their countries and identified new areas for expanded cooperation.

The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in key sectors, including gas development, digitalization, mining logistics, and trade, as part of efforts to deepen economic ties and promote shared prosperity.

Speaking after the meeting, Dr. Juldeh Jalloh said the engagement reflected a shared commitment to practical partnerships that deliver tangible results.

“Sierra Leone and Ghana have a long-standing relationship, and we are keen to deepen collaboration in sectors that can unlock growth and create jobs,” he stated.

Both leaders underscored the importance of South-South cooperation and highlighted the critical role of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in advancing Africa’s economic integration.

Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang described AfCFTA as “a critical platform for Africans to trade with one another, add value to our resources, and accelerate development across the continent.”

Dr. Juldeh Jalloh reaffirmed Sierra Leone’s commitment to working closely with Ghana under the AfCFTA framework, emphasizing that such cooperation would serve the mutual interests of both nations and contribute to the broader advancement of Africa.

“We will continue to work closely for the mutual benefit of our peoples and the wider progress of the African continent,” he added.
