The National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has unveiled its 2026 operational theme, “Inclusive Social Action for a Resilient Sierra Leone,” reaffirming the Government of Sierra Leone’s commitment to people-centered development and social protection for the most vulnerable populations.

The theme was announced by NaCSA Commissioner, Mr. Ernest Ndomahina, during a management meeting at the Commission’s headquarters in Freetown. In his address, he outlined NaCSA’s strategic focus on inclusive growth, community-driven development, and resilience-building, in alignment with the Government’s Feed Salone Agenda.

Commissioner Ndomahina described the theme as a guiding framework for the Commission’s interventions in the year ahead, emphasizing that national development must be inclusive and equitable.

“This theme represents our collective vision of a Sierra Leone where every citizen women, youth, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable communities has a meaningful stake in national development,” he said. “It is about ensuring that growth is shared and that resilience is built from the ground up. We have carefully aligned this framework with the national development agenda as articulated by His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio.”

He stressed that sustainable development must deliberately target groups that have historically been marginalized, noting that NaCSA will continue to place such communities at the center of its social protection and livelihood programmes.

“We cannot speak of progress if large segments of our population remain excluded. Inclusion is not charity; it is justice and the foundation of sustainable development,” Commissioner Ndomahina asserted.

Also addressing the meeting, NaCSA Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Susan Robert, called for strengthened institutional efficiency and accountability. She urged internal units to refocus on both financial and operational audits to enhance performance and service delivery.

“Development works best when it is owned by the people. Shared responsibility, accountability, and civic engagement are the pillars of effective social action,” Dr. Robert said, encouraging staff to deepen partnerships with grassroots communities across the country.

Both leaders challenged staff and development partners to translate the 2026 theme into tangible results, stressing that it must go beyond rhetoric.

“This is not just a slogan; it is a call to action. Each of us has a role to play in making Sierra Leone more inclusive, resilient, and prosperous,” Commissioner Ndomahina emphasized.

Dr. Robert echoed the sentiment, adding that collaboration, discipline, innovation, and compassion will be critical to achieving the Commission’s objectives.

As the meeting concluded, NaCSA’s leadership expressed optimism and determination, positioning the Commission not only as an implementing agency but also as a mobilizing force for national transformation. Through its 2026 theme, NaCSA envisions a stronger, fairer, and more united Sierra Leone, consistent with the development vision championed by President Dr. Julius Maada Bio.
