Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, has led a high-level delegation of senior security sector officials to the International Counter-Terrorism Academy in Jacqueville, Côte d’Ivoire, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional security cooperation.
During the visit, the delegation held strategic engagements with key Ivorian officials, including the Minister of Defence, Téné Birahima Ouattara, the Minister of Interior and Security, General Vagondo Diomandé, and other senior defence and security officials.
Speaking on the outcome of the visit, Vice President Jalloh said discussions focused on enhancing the regional security architecture through regular exchanges, collaboration, and capacity-building support. “We discussed opportunities to strengthen the regional security architecture through regular exchanges and capacity-building support,” he stated.
According to the Vice President, the mission aligns closely with the broader regional security agenda of President Julius Maada Bio, who currently serves as Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
He emphasized that the visit reflects Sierra Leone’s strong commitment to collective security, regional peace, and peacekeeping efforts. “The mission aligns with His Excellency Julius Maada Bio’s broader vision of deepening regional security cooperation and bolstering Sierra Leone’s peacekeeping capabilities,” he added.
Vice President Jalloh also expressed appreciation to the Governments of France and Côte d’Ivoire for their continued support and partnership. “I want to thank the French Government and the Ivorian Government for their support in making this mission successful and for their commitment to regional cooperation aimed at promoting peace and stability,” he said.
He described the engagement as a positive and significant step toward strengthening regional security collaboration across West Africa.
