The National Pentecostal Church of Sierra Leone, along with its diaspora branches, successfully held its 16th Biennial Conference at the church’s headquarters, located at 85 Fort Street, Freetown. The spiritually enriching event took place from October 28th to 31st, 2025, under the inspiring theme “My Year of Divine Rest” (Hebrews 4:5).

The conference brought together church leaders, ministers of the gospel, and congregants from across Sierra Leone and the diaspora to worship, reflect, and renew their faith in God’s promises.

Bishop Magnus Bendu served as the guest speaker, with Reverend John S. Mansaray conducting the sessions. In his sermon, Bishop Bendu expounded on the central theme, describing God’s rest as both a divine promise and a privileged position a place of hope and assurance found only in God’s presence.

Drawing from Psalms 27:5 and Hebrews 4:5, Bishop Bendu emphasized that entering God’s rest requires both faith and obedience. He outlined four key principles for believers to experience this divine rest: Believe in God: Trust fully in His promises. Develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ: Make Him the center of your life. Maintain a clean and pure heart: As reflected in Hebrews 3:12.

Obey God’s Word: Live in accordance with His divine instructions (Hebrews 4:6).

He reminded the congregation that God’s rest is not merely the absence of challenges, but rather the presence of peace and assurance that comes through faith in Christ.

The biennial conference also featured moments of praise, worship, and prayer, as participants reflected on God’s faithfulness and renewed their commitment to serving Him and humanity.

As the church continues to expand its ministry both locally and internationally, the leadership reaffirmed its mission to spread the gospel of Christ and strengthen the spiritual lives of its members under the guiding theme of divine rest.
