President Bio Highlights Anti-Corruption Efforts at Public-Private Partnerships Summit

During the inaugural Public-Private Partnerships Summit for Change, President Julius Maada Bio emphasized the critical importance of combating corruption as a cornerstone of effective governance in Sierra Leone.

Co-hosted by Richard Attias & Associates and Teneo, the summit provided a platform for President Bio to discuss how public-private partnerships can enhance transparency and accountability in government operations. “Our collaborations with private companies are essential for achieving results that benefit our citizens,” he stated, highlighting the potential of strategic alliances to strengthen anti-corruption efforts.

In his address, President Bio outlined specific achievements by his administration aimed at reducing corruption and building public trust. He cited initiatives such as establishing transparent procurement processes and implementing rigorous oversight mechanisms, which have significantly improved governance practices nationwide.

“Engaging the private sector allows us to leverage expertise and resources that enhance our anti-corruption framework,” the President emphasized. He also called for increased investment in human capital development, arguing that empowering citizens is crucial to resisting corrupt practices.
