The Ministry of Information is taking a significant step forward by expanding its Civic Day Series to the global stage, with its inaugural event in the United States aimed at connecting Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora. Scheduled for September 30, 2025, at 4 PM, this event is poised to become a pivotal moment for governance discussions, opportunities, and the vital role of every Sierra Leonean voice.
Hosted at 8500 Annapolis Road, New Carrollton, MD, the event will feature prominent speakers, including Dr. David Sengeh, Chief Minister of Sierra Leone, as well as key figures such as Salima Bangura, Dr. Austin Demby, Musa Timothy Kabbah, Alpha Sesay, and others. These leaders will share insights on advancing Sierra Leone’s development and engaging the diaspora community in meaningful ways.
The Civic Day Series seeks to provide a platform where Sierra Leoneans abroad can contribute to national discourse, discuss governance issues, and explore opportunities to support their homeland. “This is a unique chance for diaspora members to connect with leaders and share their perspectives on how we can collectively drive change,” said Chernoh Bah, the event host and Minister of Information and Civic Education.
With increasing interest in diaspora engagement, this event represents a crucial step in fostering a sense of community among Sierra Leoneans in the U.S. It emphasizes the importance of maintaining connections with those at home, while encouraging active participation in national development.
Registration for the event is now open, and participants are encouraged to secure their spots via this link: bit.ly/4pmksel](http://bit.ly/4pmksel.
