Ishmail Nabieu, a mason, and Bala Marah, a carpenter, have been committed to the High Court by Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2, following charges of conspiracy, assault, and wounding.
The accused face four counts, including conspiracy to commit a felony, wounding with intent, malicious wounding, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861.
According to the charge sheet, on Wednesday, 16th April 2025, at Black Tank, Adonkia, Goderich in Freetown, the accused allegedly conspired with unknown persons to wound Baimaro Sesay with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The assault reportedly left the victim with serious injuries, as confirmed by a medical report tendered as Exhibit K.
No plea was taken from the accused during the proceedings.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Joan M. S. Bull led five prosecution witnesses, all of whom gave consistent and corroborative testimonies. After reviewing the evidence and medical report, Magistrate Fornah ruled that the prosecution had established a prima facie case.
As a result, both accused were committed to the High Court for trial. Their bail conditions remain unchanged, in accordance with Section 120(1) of the Criminal Procedure Act of 1965. A date for the High Court trial is yet to be set.
