On August 15, 2025, President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone held a strategic meeting with His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye, President of Senegal, as part of his official tour of the sub-region in his capacity as Chairperson of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.
The meeting emphasized both leaders’ shared commitment to strengthening regional unity and collaboration, particularly at a time when West Africa faces significant economic and security challenges.
During their discussions, President Bio underscored the importance of enhanced cooperation between Sierra Leone and Senegal, reaffirming their mutual dedication to the growth and stability of the ECOWAS community.
