The Sierra Leone Gymnastic Federation (SLGF) has successfully concluded a four-day Aerobic Gymnastics training camp held at the Sierra Leone Labour Congress hall on 35 Wallace Johnson Street in Freetown.
The training camp which commenced from Monday, 9th to 13th, June 2025, was supported by the Uniuon of Aerobic Gymnastic Union, attracted 27 participants, which include 21 children (boys and girls) and 6 coaches.
Speaking during the closing ceremony, the President of the Sierra Leone Gymnastics Federation, Anna Williams, expressed her deepest gratitude to all those who made the inspiring training camp to a success, expressing her appreciation to the international expert Eva Azloboda.
“Your passion, skill, and mentorship have elevated the standards of our gymnastics. Thank you for sharing your invaluable knowledge with such energy and care. To the Union, of Aerobic Gymnastics (UAG), thank you for your continued commitment to the growth of this sport in our region. Your support makes opportunity like this possible.”
She also thanked the parents, whose encouragement and unwavering belief in their children form the foundation of every achievement which they celebrated.
“We are deeply honored by the presence of the President of the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone. Your support reaffirms the importance of nurturing talents and building a future for aerobic, gymnastic in our nation, the Gymnastics Federation President stated.
She concluded by lauding the incredible gymnasts, noting they’ve shown discipline, energy, and their hearts every single day, adding this camp was not just about perfecting routines, but about building confidence, resilience and unity. “You are the future of this sport, and we are so proud of you. Let’s carry forward the spirit, strength, and synergy we built here. This is not the end, but just the beginning.”
Eva Azloboda, the Hungarian Aerobic Gymnastics Expert, acknowledged the huge potential among the children, Thanking Anna Williams for choosing her to conduct the training camp for the third time.
“I know your kids are your future and I am telling you honestly that they are the future of this sport. You must believe in your children because their development will raise the nation,” she affirms adding “I would like to say thank you again for helping them improved not just physically, but also mentally. The knowledge they are acquiring will them in the future.”
Michael Fornah, the team captain of the Sierra Leone Gymnastics Federation, who participated as one of the coaches, expressed his joy for being part of the aerobic gymnastics training for the third second time.
Hawa Sillah, one of the children who benefitted from the training camp said she felt privileged to be part of the participants, thanking the federation for giving her the opportunity to learn new skills.
The closing ceremony of the five-day training camp was climaxed by the presentation of certificates to all the 27 participants.
