Two accused persons including Thirty-Seven years Alusine Kargbo and thirty-two years old Patrick Antony Morovia are presently before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 after they were charged on two count of Conspiracy contrary to law and Larceny by Servant contrary to section 17 (1) (a) of the Larceny  Act of 1916.

According to the particulars of offence the accused persons Alusine Kargbo and Patrick Antony Monrovia on diverse days between 2023 and 2024 at the Orange Communications Company office warehouse at Calaba Town conspired with other persons unknown and stole therein properties worth Millions of Leones.

In count two, it was also alleged that the accused persons being servants employed by the said company stole therein items valued at Two Hundred and Eighty Three Thousand, One Hundred and Sixteen Leones (283, 116/00) properties of the said company.

Shortly after the matter was mentioned with both solicitor and prosecution present, the witness took the witness Joshua Lahai Smart was led in evidence.

Being led in evidence by prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of police Ibrahim S Mansaray the witness identified himself as a Staff of Orange Communications Company Sierra Leone and also the

Acting Head of Warehouse and Logistics Manager.

The Acting Manager mentioned some of his duties as receiving of goods and storage of goods or items and shipment for the said company.

“I know both accused persons as staff of Orange Sierra Leone as Warehouse officers” he said.

He furthered recalled December 2023 and 11th January 2024 as he was on live and resumed on 11th January 2024 adding that when he resume as normal process call for stock out of the warehouse which is located at Calaba Town which they did.

The witness said on his previous testimony he told the court that if he had a time he will produce the tally shit of all the stock he took at the office in court.

The said documents was brought and produced and tendered in court to form part of the court records after the findings he discovered so many differences he ask the accused persons why he is seeing some differences.

The witness said by then the accused persons together with one Mohamed Mansaray was at the ware house they didn’t respond to him, the witness said on the 26th December 2023 he received information from Mohamed Mansaray, upon the information received he reported the matter to his boss, his boss gave him support for him to come at the ware house to ask the accused persons to know the differences.

At this juncture, the witness was stammering during proceedings; the prosecutor seeks for a short adjournment date for him to get proper conference with the witness.

Counsel representing the accused persons Julia F During and C. Kamara renewed his previous Bail applications on behalf of the accused persons.

Meanwhile Magistrate Kekura granted the accused persons bail in the sum of five hundred thousand Leones each with two sureties each.

Sureties to be employed in a government institution in Freetown and sureties must produce the recent NCRA identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown.

Bail to be approved by the Deputy assistant Registrar Matter adjourned to the 6th March 2024 for further hearing.
