In a recent development, former Bo City Council Mayor, Mr. Harold Logie Tucker, has accused the incumbent Mayor, Kobba Musa, of persistent harassment and forceful entry into stores he claims to have invested in for years. Tucker asserted, “The stores I have invested in have been forcefully opened, and lockers changed.”
This revelation sparked a flurry of comments on the issue within the main WhatsApp forum. A subsequent investigation by this platform unveiled a complex backstory involving public toilets built during Tucker’s mayoral tenure. Constructed near Lawyer Charles Francis Margai’s fence, these facilities led to a legal dispute resulting in a transformation order and a hefty fine of Twenty-Seven Million Old Leones imposed on the Bo City Council, payable to Margai.
Madam Veronica Fortune, the Chief Administrator at the time, paid Twelve Million to Margai through his lawyer, Mohamed Monya Sheriff. An additional Fifteen Million Old Leones was later handed over when Margai appeared at the council.
Amidst this, the wife of Harold Tucker sought a lease agreement for the contested stores from the Bo City Council, yet no formal agreement was reached. Mayor Kobba Musa’s subsequent property investigation included scrutiny of the embattled stores at Shellmingo, raising questions about their ownership – whether they belong to the Bo City Council or are private property of former Mayor Tucker.
Despite the matter being formally reported to authorities, the pace of the investigation appears sluggish, fueling an ongoing acrimonious exchange between the former and current mayor. Concerned residents in Bo City are now demanding an immediate and thorough investigation, fearing potential disruptions to crucial developmental projects for the city.
Adding to the tension, the office of Mayor Kobba Musa was recently damaged by unknown persons, intensifying the uneasy atmosphere in Bo.
