In a recent ruling at the Sefadu Magistrate Court in Koidu City, Kono District, Magistrate Joseph Toby handed down sentences to two individuals for separate offenses.
Sahr Sorie Conteh was sentenced to forty-five months imprisonment for unlawful possession of kush, as outlined in section eight (a) of the National Drugs Control Act number ten of 2008. Conteh was apprehended at the main Konomanyi lorry park on February 6th, 2024, and appeared before Magistrate Joseph Toby on February 9th, 2024. The prosecution was led by Sgt. 9407 Patrick Kabia.
Similarly, Sheku Kargbo received a minimum sentence of forty-five months for unlawful possession of military uniform, a violation of section thirteen 13 (1) of Cap thirty-seven 37 as amended by section 5(A) of Act number 6 of 1981. Kargbo was arrested on January 29th, 2024, in possession of the military uniform without lawful authority in the Simbakoro Area of Koidu City. Like Conteh, Kargbo also made his first court appearance before Magistrate Joseph Toby on February 9th, 2024, with Sgt. 9407 Patrick Kabia prosecuting the case.
Both convicts are currently serving their sentences at the Sefadu Male Correctional Centre in Koidu City.
