26 years old Komba Bonga a tricycle rider made another appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.2 in Freetown on a count of House Breaking and Larceny contrary to section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on Monday 6th November 2023 at No.40 water Street, Congo Town the western area in Freetown with intent to steal broke and entered into the dwelling house of Miss Fatmata Conteh and stole therein one Hp Laptop computer, three sets of school bag and other assorted items all to the total sum of seventeen thousand two hundred and twenty Leones (17,220) property of Fatmata Conteh.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person no plea taken.
Sub Inspector S.I Bona led first Prosecution witness (PW1) Fatmata B Conteh a business woman who recognized the accused person, and recall on the above date she was at the hospital when she received a phone call from one of her neighbour call Martha informing her that they saw her widely window opened.
Upon the information she took a bike and went home. The witness said she saw her window opened, her together with Martha went inside her house and discovered that rice and provisions were missing including some of her clothes, shoes from the shoe rack, few of her children school bags were also missing. At the palour of her house some dishes, pot, laundering board, computer laptop, cartons nodules and macaroni were all gone equivalent to seventeen million Leones.
The witness said she went to Congo Cross police station where she made report; herself together with some police officers went to her house and took some snapshots.
The witness was cross examined by the accused person.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Bangura refused bail and sent the accused person to the male facility in Freetown and matter adjourned to the 14th December 2023 for further hearing, while Sub Inspector S I Bona prosecuting the matter.
