Spokesman for His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio has calmed Sierra Leoneans on November 26th failed coup that led to the storming of Wilberforce military armoury during the weekly press briefing organized by Ministry of Information and Civic Education on Tuesday 5th December 2023 at the Foreign Affairs Academy in Freetown.
Alhaji Alpha Kanu, Presidential Spokesman said President Bio being a staunch leader demonstrated courage and steadfastness especially at the height of the ceaseless firing between the Sierra Leone Army and the assailants during the attempted failed coup. Alpha Khan added that the President deliberately went outside to motivate his trusted and energetic militants who fought hard to combat the situation.
He mentioned that as a result of the relentless and technical strength of the military, a number of the assailants were arrested even before the attempted failed coup. ‘’President Bio says he will never abandon his stewardship of the protection of the lives and properties of Sierra Leoneans,” Alpha Khan said.
He urged Sierra Leoneans to foster peace, national unity and cohesion as the President Bio remains an emblem of peace in the country. Alhaji Kanu emphasized that President Bio is destined to be a leader for Sierra Leone, and the people of Sierra Leone need to accept him as the President for the next five years.
‘Alpha Khan’ said the only way to prosperous nation like Sierra Leone to develop is when the citizens continue to obey the President of that nation. He encouraged Sierra Leoneans to remain law abiding and positive in their various endeavors.
