Under the leadership of Assistant Inspector General of Police, Mr. Brima Kanneh, the Sierra Leone Police responded swiftly to an unexpected breach at the Pademba Road Correctional Facility on Sunday, November 26, 2023.
In light of the incident, AIG Kanneh called upon checkpoint personnel to heighten vigilance and conduct thorough searches, recognizing the potential threat posed by the escaped individuals to the community.
The Police successfully apprehended thirty escaped prisoners at various locations within Bo City and the Southern Region. Among those detained were individuals under Police protective custody, including Abdulrahman Bangura, Alhaji Lamin, Julius Aruna, Mohamed Momoh Nustapha, Godgrave Jones, Alfred Sandy, Unisa Kamara, Dian Turay, and others, escorted to PHQ Freetown for further processing.
Emphasizing the importance of community involvement, AIG Brima Kanneh urged citizens to share relevant information aiding in the re-arrest of the remaining escapees.
Despite the incident, the Southern Region remains calm, thanks to the dedicated efforts of AIG Brima Kanneh and Local Unit Commander CSP Alphonso A. Fambulleh, recognized for his commitment to ensuring public safety and security.
