45 Pupils of the West Africa Methodist Collegiate Senior Secondary School in Freetown yesterday embarked on an excursion to the Judiciary of Sierra Leone.
Received by the Public Relations Officer 2 of the Judiciary of Sierra Leone, Francis Hinga Murray, the pupils were privileged to go round the entire structure at Siaka Stevens Street which is home to the Country’s Highest Court, the Supreme Court.
The over 3-hours visit included visiting the Reception Desk of the Judiciary, the Waiting Room, the Anti-Corruption Division, the Sexual Offences Division, the Civil & Criminal Registries, Judges’ Room and Court rooms among others.
The pupils were privileged to meet with dignitaries like the Honorable Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Desmond Babatunde Edwards, the Master & Registrar of the High Court, Mrs. Elaine Thomps-Archibald and Registrars and heads of Registries.
The Honorable Chief Justice encouraged the pupils to be studious in their academic work and resist all forms of distractions through their peer as the country relies on them as future leaders.
Added to the places visited were the holding cell for inmates, waiting and Conference Rooms of the Honorable Chief Justice room and them through the exercise.
The visitors extended their appreciation to the Hon. Chief Justice, the Management and Staff of the Judiciary for the warm reception.
The pupils were accompanied by three other teachers including the Head of Department Arts, Mr. Alfred Alpha, Mr Yusuf Sidikie and Mr Christian Koroma.
