Judgement Day Awaits September 11 Rioters

On Friday 17th November 2023, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh has adjourned pending riotous matter involving fourteen accused for a ruling.

The fourteen (14) Lukemon Yaya and thirteen (13)  were arraigned before the court for riotous conduct, disorderly behaviour and other related offences contrary to law.

Police records alleged that the accused, on the day in question were found behaved in a riotous and disorderly manner.

Prosecution witness who is also doubles as the Exhibit clerk, Sergeant 10275 Buya  Abu Kamara, attached to the Exhibit Store , at the Regional Ross Road Police Station tendered the various exhibits to form part of the court’s records.

Sergeant Kamara is charged with duties and responsibilities of receiving all exhibits that have been investigated by police officers for safekeeping.

He said he also produced and tendered them in court when the need arises.

On 13th September 2023, said he was on duty at the said unit, when Detective Police Constable (DPC) 12144 Jalloh S attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) handed over to him the following items including placard with an incrption ” We want data information known. We need good governance in Sierra Leone and others with several inscriptions on their placards,” Buya explained.

The exhibits were produced tendered in evidence.

After the Exhibits were tendered, the prosecution closed its case.

The accused were denied bail and sent on remand.

Magistrate Daboh promised to deliver a verdict and judgement on Friday 17th November 2023.
