The Turkish Minister of Trade, Prof. Ömer Bolat, has engaged the Africa Diplomatic Corps -ADC- ahead of the Turkiye-Africa Business and Economic Forum scheduled for 12th-13th October 2023, in Istanbul.
Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkiye, Professor Dr. Ömer BOLAT, said the Theme for the 2023 Forum would be “Addressing Challenges and Unlocking Opportunities: Building Stronger Türkiye-Africa Economic Partnerships”
Professor Dr. Ömer BOLAT further noted that the Türkiye-Africa Economic and Business Forum is the essential platform dedicated to fostering trade and establishing robust economic collaborations between Türkiye and the African continent, saying that on the 12-13 October 2023, officials and business representatives would be gathering for the fourth time in Istanbul to explore avenues for enhancing economic ties that would shape the shared future of Türkiye and Africa.
“This forum will be an occasion to delve into the challenges encountered in the realization of the economic potential of Türkiye and Africa, and to chart out ways to unlock new opportunities, “he emphasized.
In a short response, His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba said that Sierra Leone-Turkiye business and Investment relations were progressing, saying that as the bilateral trade volumes continued to increase over the years, the government of President Julius Maada Bio would continue to work closely with Turkiye as a reliable partner, and that such partnership would be beneficial to both countries.
“Trade between Sierra Leone and Turkiye is new and comparatively low, but we are determined to change the narrative. As the ambassador of Sierra Leone here, I will do everything within my powers to strengthen the trade ties”, he noted.
