On Alleged Theft : Cleaner At NACOVAC Took Business Man To Court

33yrs old Mohamed Kamara a business man made another appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on one count charge to wit fraudulent conversion Contrary to Section 20 (1) (iv) (a) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence sometimes in September 2022 at Botom Mango Wilberforce the western areas in Freetown fraudulently converted to his own use or benefit certain property that is to say the sum of nine thousand new Leones (9,000) entrusted to him by Lansana Marrah for the purpose of safe keeping property of the said Lansana Marrah.

When the charge was read and explained to the accused person No plea taken.

Police Constable 17220 J.B Sannoh lead Prosecution witness number one Lansana Marrah a cleaner at NACOVAC said he recalled the accused person they’re living in the same room.

 He recalled on the above date he gave the accused person the sum of ten million old Leones the witness said he gave the said amount to the accused person at Spur loop junction for safe keeping but there was no body present on the day he gave the money to the accused person.

 The witness said the money he gave to the accused person was his salary he has been receiving from Nacovac at this junction the prosecutions seek for a short adjournment date.

The accused person was unrepresented by legal representative meanwhile magistrate Gogra granted the accused person bail in the sum of twenty thousand Leones with two sureties in like sum.

 Sureties to be resident in the western area sureties to produce valid identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown bail to be approved by the Bench matter adjourned to 6th of June 2023 for further hearing.
