At least one hundred and fifty (150) women groups in Kono district have been trained and registered with the AFRIMONEY SIERRA LEONE SERVICE.
The training and registration sessions were done during the official launch of the Commonwealth Business Women Africa (CBWA) Kono branch held at the Sahr Fellie Faboi Resource center in Koidu city Kono district on Wednesday 31st. May 2023. According to the managing director AFRIMONEY SIERRA LEONE , Martison Dbeng_Agyei AFRIMONEY is a secure way to transfer, store and manage an account linked to Africell sim card, similar to a digital bank account. He said his company was working in partnership with a diamond buyer and exporter madam Sia Jarieu Mbayoh Morsay who doubles as the sole brand Ambassador with National and International recognition and a strong consistent representative of Sierra Leone to the Commonwealth of nations in the establishment of the C B W A in Kono district in order to provide an effective collaborations with the aims of developing and empowering women and youths economically.
In his opening remarks early the chairman of the ceremony who also doubles as the chairman council of paramount chiefs Kono district PC Tamba Emmanuel T. Foyoh lV foremost thanked madam Sia Jarieu Mbayoh Morsay and the AFRIMONEY management for such gesture to have brought together women,youths and children.PC Foyoh described the event as timely and a blessing for his people especially the different women groups in Kono district encouraged madam Morsay AFRIMONEY management and it’s donor partners to continue the good work as it’s one of the ways of supporting government ‘s human capital Development and the gender Empowerment Acts,2022. He conclusively noted that the first lucky women groups that were selected have to focus and be committed in order to make good use of such golden opportunity that others are yet to gain.
Delivering the keynote statement, the head of Commonwealth Business Women’s Network Sierra Leone chapter Kono branch, Diamond buyer and exporter who also serve as the sole brand Ambassador of AFRIMONEY SIERRA LEONE madam Sia Jarieu Mbayoh Morsay foremost narrated the over view of (C.B.W.A) organization, adding the Commonwealth Business Women’s Africa is a product of the British Commonwealth of fifty six (56) nations including many African countries that is currently headed by ” King Charles” of England. She maintained that C.B .W.A Kono branch office is a national non-governmental organization in effective collaborations with AFRIMONEY and it’s a non- profit making, non -political organization with the passion of developing empowering women and youths economically with a lot of available Commonwealth scholarship opportunities. Notwithstanding she has established a twin office at number 3 Konomanyi street Koidu and the other office representing the Commonwealth Business Women Africa and the other representing the champion Diamond buying office by extension.
On their part the deputy chair lady madam Adama Bockarie one of the C.B.W.A women’s groups and madam Kumba James the chair lady of the Sufidu Women’s group thanked madam Sia Jarieu Mbayoh Morsay, AFRIMONEY SIERRA LEONE and the other donor partners for such gesture and promised to utilize the funds of the program accordingly in order to bring better head ways to their various homes as some of them are breadwinners.
