Abdul Kasim Bangura a Masoner made his first appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on a count of Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916
According to the particulars of the offence on Thursday 30th March 2023 at Bonga Town Wilkinson Road the western area in Freetown did steal and entered into the vehicle of John Keister did steal the sum of thirty-two thousand seven hundred and fifty Leones property of John Keister.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Christiana Davies Cole lead Prosecution witness number one Sierra Leone Coach John Samuel John Kinster a British national said he recognized the accused person in the dock.
He recalled on the 30th March 2023 he said around 2:00 pm he came and packed his Lexus Jeep with registration number AOB 111 along NASSIT drive off Wilkinson Road.
He drove the vehicle close to where two unknown named ladies, together he left his green bag in the back seat in the vehicle.
On his way he met the right side glass of the passenger sit was smashed, he opened his vehicle with the key but it was unable to open.
Upon that he called his fitter who came and helped him to open his vehicle after that he immediately checked first for his green bag.
To his surprise, the bag was not in the vehicle the witness said the bag contains his computer laptop, his hand drive and fifty Leones note and other assorted official documents.
The witness said he asked the two ladies about what happened with his vehicle they said they know nothing about it upon that he went to Lumley police station where he made a statement himself and the police came to the scene of the crime.
His fitter drove the vehicle from the scene of the crime.
Cross-examined by the accused person at the time we were arrested the other guys said I wasn’t in the scene of the crime the witness said he didn’t know.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Ngegba refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown.
The matter is adjourned to the 25th of April 2023 for further hearing.
