Aiah Momodu, Osman Sensei and Ibrahim Sorie Kamara yesterday made another appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngeba of Pademba Road Court no.1 in Freetown they were refused bail again and both accused persons were sent at the Male Correctional facility.
In his evidence, an okada rider who identified himself as Mayo Bangura recognized the complainant Baimba Sannoh and also recognized the first accused Aiah but said he did not know the second and third accused Osman and Ibrahim.
He recalled on Friday 11th November 2022, Bangura furthered that on that day; he was in Njaiama town Kono when he saw the first accused attacked the complainant having a gun in his hand.
He said the first accused fired a gun and he took the bag and money from the complainant and he ran away inside the bush.
He said he was later called to make a statement at the police station.
The witness was cross examined by defense Counsel Roland Bangura on behalf of the accused.
They were refused bail and the matter was adjourned to 26th April 2023.
The accused were standing trial before the court on three count charges ranging from conspiracy, robbery with aggravation, unlawful possession of arms and ammunition and carrying offensive weapons without lawful authority contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
The charge sheet indicated that the first accused Aiah Momodu on Friday 11th November 2022 between Ukraine Mining sites and Njaiama town Kono district conspired together with other person unknown to commit a felony to wit robbery with aggravation.
The charge sheet furthered that the first accused also on the same day and place being armed with a gun robbed Bamba Sesay one Samsung Galaxy note 9 mobile phone valued at twenty – one thousand six hundred Leones and a fiscal cash of fifty -five thousand Leones totaling seventy-six thousand six hundred new Leones property of Bamba Sesay.
The charge sheet continue that the first accused also on the same day and place was also found in possession of a pistol marked S/CIV20-P1005380/77P having eight live rounds of ammunition and he was also found carrying offensive weapons to wit cutlass and electric shocker without lawful authority.
The charge sheet ended that the second and third accused Ibrahim and Osman on the same day and place at Bumpeh junction in Kono well knows that the first accused Aiah attacked and robbed the complainant received, comforted and harbored him.
