Prosecution witness two Sergeant 10275 Buya Abu Kamara on Friday 14th April 2023, testify before Magistrate Hadiru K Daboh of Ross Road Court No 3 in Freetown, on a malicious damage case.

The witness said his duties are to receive exhibits and whenever court want them they will produce it, he recalled 29th March 2023, he was at the Exhibit Office at Ross Road Police Station when Detective Police Constable 18635 Sesay Z attached at the Regional Criminal Investigation Department, handed over to him 9 billboards bearing the photos of the President Rtd. Maada Bio the Vice President Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh and Mohamed Gento Kamara.

He registered it into the Court exhibit book against serial number 46/2023.

The witness produced the 9 billboards and tendered it in Court to form part of the Court records marked exhibit A1-9.

The witness also tendered a razor blade that he used to damage the bill boards and he was arrested with it and tendered as exhibit B.

At the end of the testimony of PW2, the accused told the court that he has no questions for him because he is not the one that arrested him.

It could be recalled that the accused Samuel Thap is charged on a count of malicious damage contrary to Section 51 of the Malicious Damage Act 1861.

According to the charge sheet, Samuel Thap on Friday 24 March 2023, at Bai Bureh Road, Ferry Junction, Freetown, maliciously damaged 9 Sierra Leone People’s Party billboard valued nine thousand Leones, property of Sierra Leone People’s Party.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Daboh refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional centre in Freetown matter was adjourned to the 21st of April 2023

Detective Superintendent of Police Fatmata Kuyateh is Prosecuting the matter.
