The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) made a clarion call on its members from Goderich, Jui to the last corner of Waterloo in the Western Rural District to assemble on Thursday not for the political rally but to witness an important meeting for the victory of the party come June 24th 2023.

The party also called on those aspiring for seats in Council and Parliament to face the party’s executives and membership in the Western Rural District.

According to the Deputy Secretary General of PDP Sorbeh, Saidu Kargbo, the party is trying to sort out its list of candidates to contest in the elections. “We are putting our aspirants together to build their confidence and abreast them with the latest development within the party”, Kargbo said, boasting that well-known names within the district have come up for both parliamentary and Local Council seats.

One of the notable names said to be coming on strong is Mohamed Barie Denkeh aka Med Posh who is a businessman, entertainer who has contributed to various community activities.

Med Posh will be contesting for the position of Chairman of the Waterloo District Council (WARDC) against the incumbent, Kasho Cole whom he said he will beat hands down come 24th June.

Cross section of the party’s members in the district have stressed that the leadership of the district both at the Local and Parliamentary levels needs to change hands. They said voters should cast their votes for PDP not APC which they said is responsible for the backwardness of the district.

It could be recalled that PDP had endorsed the reelection of Dr. Julius Maada Bio alongside the Sierra Leone People’s Party’s contender, Mohamed Gento Kamara for the Freetown City Council.
