East End Lions Football Club is pleased to confirm the signing of Striker Ibrahim Sorie Conteh alias
‘Haaland’on a permanent deal.
The 18-year-old Ibrahim Sorie Conteh joins the 2019 Sierra Premier League Champions on a
three-year contract for an undisclosed fee, with an option to extend for a further year.
The young star started his career with his hometown club Yoni Shooting Stars FC of Mile
91, Tonkolili District, Northern Sierra Leone before rising to stardom at the COFA Inter Area
League with Dove Cut FC after some scintillating performances against established premier
league defenders.
He also had a spell in the Guinée Championnat National (simply known as Ligue 1 Pro or Top Flight League) with Guinean Side FC Séquence de Dixinn.
“Since I heard of the interest, I was always convinced that East End Lions is a place for me,” said
Conteh, adds “I think the fan base and the management will help me a lot in settling down.
The club I believe that suits me as a person, the way the team trains at the minute suits my
style, and the club just looks like they’re heading in the right direction. “I feel like it’s a really
big step. People haven’t seen what I’m capable of yet. I think under this coach, and the way
the club’s going, I can excel here,” he said.
Interim Head Coach Raymond Hunter said “I’m delighted to sign Ibrahim Sorie – he’s a top, top talent. “I’m excited to work with him, to develop him, and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do in the East End Lions Shirt”.
According to some East End Lions, the addition of new players is good and will help the club to achieve its goal as they want to see the players competing for the Premier League Champions trophy.
