RSLAF Revive Taekwondo In Military

Lieutenant Colonel Samia has 18th March 2023 assured the Sierra Leone Taekwondo Association about the readoption of the Taekwondo Martial arts sport into the Military.

Lieutenant Colonel Samia made this statement during a visit that the new executive of the Sierra Leone Taekwondo Association made to the Cockery military headquarters in Freetown.

He said the sport has military attributes and so it would help to enhance the defence skills of the military personnel in Sierra Leone.

He adds that the sport is not new to Sierra Leone’s military as he is grateful for the association’s effort to revive it again.

The president of the Sierra Leone Taekwondo Association expresses his thanks and appreciation to the Sierra Leone military for being part of his 2023 agenda of redeveloping the sport in many institutions as plans to change the face of the sport locally and internationally.

He ended up calling on the government and sports lovers to come on board and support the association as he said the association is challenged in many areas, particularly with finance but also assure the military that the new executive will continue to collectively pursue the interest of the sport to the world with or without outside support.

The Sierra Leone Taekwondo Association has over the years been part of the Military and a host of Military personnel has taken part in Taekwondo Sport competitions in the Country.
