In a bid to persuade Market Women to recompense President Bio to secure a resounding victory in the June 24th 2023 elections, an aspirant for Member of Parliament in constituency 086 in Bo town Amadu Nallo, has on 23rd of February 2023, engaged the Kroo Town Road Market Women to re-elect President Bio.
He intimated that constituency 125 which falls within the Kroo Town Road Market is not his constituency where he is aspiring for the position of Member of Parliament. He however noted that he thought it wise that the Serra Leone People’s Party in Bo, is the same SLPP in Kenema, Makeni and Freetown which was the more reason he took such laudable initiative.
He also noted that it was part of his corporate social responsibility since he has an office at the Kroo Town Road Market, that obliged him to make the Kroo Town Road Market Women feel good and proud of belonging to the Sierra Leone People’s Party.
He furthered that he called such engagement with the Market Women with the primary focus of admonishing all SLPP supporters of constituency 125 Kroo Town Road, that despite it is not his constituency, but he is SLPP and he was very ready to render his unflinching support to the SLPP Market Women at Kroo Town Road. He stated that the reason for rendering his support to the Market Women at Kroo Town Road was to ensure that the people of Sierra Leone re-elect President Bio without run-off.
Amadu Nallo added that he was ready to deep into his pocket and finance any party activity with the fundamental purpose of re-electing President in June 24th 2023 without run-off. He highlighted avalanche of developmental initiative which President Bio had implemented across the country such as the Free Quality Education under the Human Capital Development, the massive infrastructural development, electricity supply, Women’s Empowerment among others.
The Aspiring Member of Parliament also admonished the gathering that the only way to recompense President Bio is to re-elect him (President Bio) without run-off. He reminded that he had been donating books at the Kroo Town Road among other personal aids within the community. He considered Kroo Town Road Community as a political battle field of which he encouraged the market women to produce at least 60% of the twenty-nine thousand votes of registered voters within constituency 125 for President Bio.
“I want to appreciate everybody for making it a duty in gracing this occasion. I want to appreciate media houses for their extensive coverage of this event. As the Chairman for constituency 125 rightly said, politics is all about how you can make people feel good and proud”, he Nallo.
He encouraged the Market Women to be preaching politics of unity in order to win the opponent over and re-elect President Bio. He advised that the only way to win an opponent over is not through derogatory and hate speech, but with persuasive words about the development of President Bio. He even proposed a campaign slogan for constituency 125 which reads as “to go and get everyone”.
Amadu Nallo concluded by reassuring the gathering that for the purposes of re-electing President Bio, he promised to provide thirteen banners for the constituency of which he presented five banners for a start. “This is politics of “tok en do” government which is the more reason I have provided five banners and the eight will be available very soon”, he concluded.
