A human Trafficker identified as Aruna Momoh is in police custody at the Bo West Police Division for attempting to sell his colleague diamond miner for at least five hundred million old leones. This was disclosed to this medium by the information officer Bo West Police division police constable 19138 Alhaji Usman Mansaray. According to him his division on Friday 10th February 2023 received a tip off that a man Aruna Momoh was trying to sell his colleague for the aforementioned amount. He noted that the matter was initially reported at the Bo East Police Division but later transferred to the criminal investigation Department Regional Bo West Police Division for further investigation. The information officer Bo West Police Division P. C. 19138 Alhaji Usman Mansaray maintained that in order for the trafficker Aruna Momoh to move with his colleague to the place where he had wanted to sell noted that they were going for support to embark on mining.
He noted prior to their movement to Bo the alleged trafficker was communicating with one Chief Ishmael Koroma in order for him to buy his colleague.
Police source says Chief Ishmael Koroma who has been accused of cannibalism as a way of laundering his image wasted no time to inform the police about the plans of Aruna Momoh to sell his colleague by inviting the police to his place. The police whilst at chief Koroma’s place in plain clothes with the pretext of buying Usman Sesay the Chief gave the trafficker a deposit of one million old Leone and promised to effect the remaining full payment when they would have gone to his boss in town.
He said it was on their way to town in chief Koroma’s vehicle when they drove to the police station and arrested the trafficker and placed him in police custody.
The victim Usman Sesay is presently about his normal business at the same time helping the police in their investigation. The alleged trafficker has denied the said allegation of selling his colleague for at least five hundred million old leones.
Meanwhile, the matter has been investigated and the file submitted to the Principal State Council for his advice. It could be recalled that similar issue in 2011 saw the destruction of some of Chief Ishmael Koroma’s belongings and his jurisdiction of leadership put to an unrest.
