Among the 10 people to be recruited, 2 will be Nationals of Sierra Leone and the 8 will be qualified young people from other member states. This is an addition to 12 other volunteers that were recruited in august 2022 as post COVID-19 deployment, who are currently providing specialized support and services in selected areas within Sierra Leone, with support from the ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Centre (EYSDC) within the ECOWAS Commission.
The recruited candidates are expected to serve as ECOWAS volunteers in Sierra Leone for a period of one year with an option to renew, as; Anesthetic nurse, anesthetic Tutor, pediatric nurse, palliative nurse, basic science teacher, chemistry teacher, French teacher, mathematics teachers and English teacher.
Accordingly, the ECOWAS National office together with specialized representatives from the related Sectors will provide supervision and monitoring of the Volunteers and compile reports for the attention of the Commission.

The interviews were conducted by specialized representatives from the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Ministry of Basic Secondary School Education and the Human Resource Management Office all in Sierra Leone.
The process was duly observed via zoom by the ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Centre (EYSDC) team from the ECOWAS Commissioner.
