The Executive Director of Center for Advocacy for Sustainable Empowerment (CASE) Salone, Madam Rassie Bah has said that her organization is committed to continue to supporting women and girls in its operational areas.
She made this statement at a certification ceremony of sixty women for successful completion of the two days training and conference; an annual event that is set aside to increase the financial skills, share experience and capacitate women in good parenting, with focus on gender (demystifying the myths and challenging harmful gender norms).
Madam Bah said that throughout the loan period and saving years of these women, the organization takes its time to understand the struggles they go through, and the major challenges they face in their businesses.
He added that the conference and certification also brings together influential and seasoned personalities in the focused areas to share their experience with the beneficiary women.
She went on to say that the conference and certification brought parents and adolescents under the same roof, where parents get to understand the struggles their adolescents are going through, and the support adolescents need from their parents.
The adolescents seized the opportunity to relay their call to action that was developed in the First West Africa Adolescent Girls Summit organized in Liberia.
Adolescents who went through the organization’s 6 months Life skills training workshop/ Teen-talk were also certified during the occasion.
The organization’s approach targets women, adolescents, particularly girls and communities, with strong conviction that it will attempt to address the root causes of sexual and gender-based violence, and empower women and adolescents to advance their rights.
With support from Global Fund for Children and TCP Global, at least 100 women have gained access to finance and increased capacity from CASE SALONE.
