Owing to the recent hoarding of fuel by dealers in Kono District which later saw the recent increment in the price of fuel per litre from twenty Leones to Twenty One Leones guests on news review program on Radio New Song F.M 91.3 MHZ in Kono District have urged the Petroleum Regulatory Agency to have more monitors in order to monitor the activities of fuel dealers in the District.

Guests of the said news review program on Sunday 20th November,2022 Where Sahr James, Mohamed Amid Sidibay, Melvin Allieu Konkorwa and Kadiatu Sow Jawara who also doubles as the narrator of the said news review program whilst the program was moderated, by the station Manager,  Problyn John Alpha.

According to them the one and only monitor who is in charge of the district cannot effectively monitor the fuel dealers because of the growing number of filling stations in the District coupled with his alleged political activities which they described as unfortunate for the smooth operations of the Petroleum Regulatory Agency in Kono District.

The 20th November, 2022 guests on the news Review program on the aforementioned radio station further maintained that although the hoarding of fuel is no longer a new phenomenon in the country.

Kono District is taking the lead in that direction as little or no monitoring is done in order to put the fuel dealers on their toes not to hoard fuel at the detriment of the common people and the SLPP led government as a whole.

The guests also pleaded with the agency to provide capacity building facility for the only monitor in the district so that his work load  will be cushioned that is with the said capacity building knowledge he will emulate the coordination skill of his colleague monitors in the other districts across the country for efficient service delivering.

Meanwhile efforts by this medium to contact the Agency’s one and only monitor Mamadi Kamara in the district on the above mentioned suggestions and allegations proved futile.
