Gift of Sight Gives Scholarship to 22 Students

About twenty-two students have benefited from the Gift of Sight educational support sponsorship project from the Southern Eye Clinic in Serabu in Bo District.

Speaking at the presentation of the educational support in the form of cash to the beneficiaries, the Director of Gift of Sight Educational Support Sponsorship Project, Amos Abu said that the donors, Tom and Cathy at the Southern Eye Clinic are passionate about supporting the vulnerable in Sierra Leone.

He said that this is not a white elephant project but a project that wants to support students whose parents cannot support their children to pursue education, adding that the project is also supporting students in the University across the country.

The beneficiaries of the project expressed their profound thanks and appreciation to the donors for supporting them to acquire sound education.

Abu Bakarr Kamara who is visually impaired   said that they have been getting huge support from the donors to pursue my education and he want to assure them that what they are giving will be used for the intended purpose.

“I am calling on those who are supporting Tom and Cathy to in return help us in Sierra Leone to continue to give dollars to send the money to us in return,’’ he said, adding that they are complimenting the role of the government he concluded.
