The state has closed the matter between them and colonel Sheku Jalloh and six others who are allegedly involved in the Sambaia Bendugu matter.
The accused Joseph Sheku Jalloh and Six others were under preliminary investigation before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba Road Court No.1 on nine counts charges of possession of small arm without License, carrying offensive weapon, threatening language, obstruction, to riotous conduct all contrary to law.
According to the particulars of offence, on Wednesday 8th June, 2022 at Sambaia Bendugu, Tonkolili District in the North East of Sierra Leone, the first accused Joseph Sheku Jalloh was found in possession of one small arm to wit short gun without licence.
On count two, the second accused was found carrying offensive weapons to wit cutlass and knife.
Police further alleged that the six and seven accused threatened to burn down the house of Honourable Paramount Chief Alhaji Bamba Foray Jalloh.
It was alleged on count seven state that the fourth accused obstructed the Sierra Leone Police when executing their lawful duties, while count nine added that the accused behave in a riotous manner.
Shortly after the matter was mentioned by the court clerk for further hearing, state prosecutor Y I Sesay informed the Bench that, they have closed their case.
In that light, defense counsel Joesph Fitzgerald Kamara informed the Bench that they will be making a no case submission on behalf of their clients.
He renewed his application for bail citing the previous submissions. He said their clients has took one hundred and ninety seven days at the male correctional center pending trials.
Having listening to the bail application of defense counsel, Magistrate Marke Ngagba granted bail in the sum of five hundred thousand leones, and two sureties each in like sum. He said one of the sureties must produce a tile deed worth three hundred and fifty thousand Leones and the the bail should be approved by the master and register. He adjourned the matter to the 4th of November 2022.
