EDSA Cable Theft:  Business man sentenced 3 years imprisonment

After a long trial at the Magistrate Court involving one Sheku Bah Conteh who identify himself as a business man, was before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road Court No 1 for a count of Larceny Contrary to Section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the charge sheet, the accused Sheku Bah Conteh on Wednesday 26th January 2022, at Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA), sub station, Bo town, stole quantity of copper cables value one hundred and forty seven million three hundred and sixty thousand Leones, property of EDSA.               

Reading the judgment, Magistrate Mark Ngegba said the testimony of the witnesses corroborated and the evidence touch him, the accused person is therefore guilty of the offence charge and sentence him to 36 months.

After the pronouncement of the judgment, the convict collapsed in Court and was taken to the lock up  to serve his sentence. Inspector Kadie M Taylor Prosecuted the matter.
