FC Kallon Football club on 17th September 2022 comfortably beat Buffles Football club from Benin in the second leg crunch tie of the CAF Confederation Cup Preliminary Round in Monrovia, Liberia.
Alie’s three goals are enough to help FC Kallon Football club down the Benin side who came into the match with high optimism that they can cause an upset against an informed FC Kallon side who are more determined to progress to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Early goal of the match came in the first half of play as Alie converted Mahmoud Fofonah’s skyrocket short to give FC Kallon the early goal of the match and the hold till the second half of play.
In the second half of play, the Benin side Buffles gets two clinical chances that could have given them hope to go into the match but failed to convert those chances and the solid defensive work from Janneh and other colleagues keep the defense of FC Kallon safe with no much threats to FC Kallon.
Alie Conteh gets his second goal deep into the second half through the clinical pass in the midfield area and converted the ball back of the net and he gets the third goal towards the end of the match.
The next round of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminaries, the head of FC the Kallon technical team, Mohamed Kallon has said that they will be taking one step at a time in their quest to grab a spot in the group stage.
In his post-match interview, the FC Kallon tactician affirmed that it was a great satisfaction to record a comfortable win against Buffles du Borgou on Saturday.
“It’s a great feeling to have done what we did this evening with our boys. They are all young players and 90% of them have been with the team for the past 10 years, so introducing them to this competition, I think is a great pleasure for our club as well”, Mohamed Kallon said.
“I want to say thanks to all the supporters that drove from Sierra Leone, that made that scarifies to come and support us. We want to take one step at a time. We’ve done with both legs, now we are going to prepare for our next opponent”, Mohamed Kallon explained.
“Our next game would be challenging, but I think we have a few things to work on. Raising the standards, raising the intensity and the quality. But I think we have time to do that. This is part of development. This is what we want, we want to be part of development, we want to bring happiness as we have numerous problems affecting our country, Africa, and the world at large, so we want to bring that satisfaction to our supporters”, he narrated.
“Part of our game model, we are a possession-based team that wants to play football the right way. We want to keep the ball and create goal-scoring opportunities, and today, that’s exactly what we did we’ve been working on it for the past two months and see how we can put the boys together, physically, technically, and tactically”, Mohamed Kallon highlighted.
Meanwhile, FC Kallon would be facing Egyptian top-tier side Future FC in the second round of the preliminaries.
Future FC beat BIDCO Bul FC of Uganda 1-0 on aggregate at the Cairo International Stadium to set up a date with the Cavaliers.
In another development, Bo Rangers suffered three goals as goals from Chouaib, in the 33rd minute and a brace for Aribi Kakin in the 86, 89 min of the match as that marks the end of the road for 2021/2022 Sierra Leone Premier Champions League Preliminary Round after being dislodged by the Algerian counterparts CR Belouizdad as they progressed to the second round Preliminary win a (3-0) aggregate win.
