After Preliminary Investigation at the lower court for robbery with violence, larceny from person and house breaking and larceny by three accused persons Abdulai Sesay, Sallieu Turay alias timberland and Ibrahim Fornah has on Wednesday 31st August 2022, committed to the High Court for trial. Each accused has its own file and different charges.
Sallieu Turay alias timberland was before Magistrate Isata Sellu Tucker of Pademba road Court No.2 in Freetown on two counts charge ranging from robbery with violence larceny from person contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
According to the charge sheet on count 1, the accused Salieu Turay alias timberland on Tuesday 10th May 2022, at Signal Hill Wilberforce, Freetown, robbed Makka Conteh the sum of eight hundred thousand Leones.
After such robbery the accused did used personal violence to Makka Conteh. On count 2 charge statement, the accused on the same date and place stole from the person of Makka Conteh eight hundred thousand Leones, property of Makka Conteh.
On the second file, Ibrahim Fornah on Tuesday 12th July 2022, at Kamachendeh drive, Imatt Freetown, broke and entered into the dwelling house of Tanu Kassim with intent to commit felony.
On the other file of house breaking and larceny, the accused Abdulai Sesay on Sunday 26th June 2022, at No. 4 Barlatt drive off Regent road, Freetown, broke and entered into the dwelling house of Hadric Kanu and stole therein one million Leones, property of Hadric Kanu.
The prosecution called four witnesses including the factual witnesses.
However, Magistrate Isata Sellu Tucker said she is of the view that the prosecution has adduced sufficient evidence against the accused persons to face trial in the High Court she committed all accused persons to the High Court for trial Assistant Superintendent of police Hawa Bah prosecuting the matter.
