His Excellency the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio, has appointed Mr. Mohamed Kpana-Gbato Kemokai as Member of the Statistics Sierra Leone Council pending Parliamentary approval.
“I have the honor to inform you that in accordance with section 4 (1) of the Statistics Sierra Leone Act 2002, it has pleased His Excellency the President Brig. (Rtd.) Julius Maada Bio to appoint you as Member (Representing the Southern Province), Statistics Sierra Leone Council, subject to the approval of Parliament”, the State House Press Release states.
The Press statement further directs Mr. Mohamed Kpana to contact the Clerk of Parliament who shall arrange a meeting with the Committee on Appointment and the Public Service of Parliament to consider his appointment. The State House Press Statement also assures the Presidential Nominee Mohamed Kpana-Gbato Kemokai, that further details including other Terms and Conditions of his appointment would be communicated to him.
Mohamed Kpana-Gbato Kemokai is a household name in the Pujehun and has worked tremendously well towards the developmental drive in the district. He has served in various leadership positions in and out of the district. Prior to his timely appointment to constitute Member of Statistics Sierra Leone Council, he was the Pujehun District Coordinator to man the Covid-19 pandemic in the district that borders with Liberia.
In his capacity as the Covid-19 District Coordinator, Mohamed Kpana-Gbato Kemokai exhibited an incomparable leadership towards the fight against the covid-19 pandemic.
His astute leadership aided the radius and circumference of Pujehun District to be appraised as one of the best districts to curtail the transmission rate of the pandemic. He also exhibited an exceptional leadership by mounting massive covid-19 vaccination drive which helped to eradicate the pandemic in that part of the country.
