25 years-old commercial motorbike rider in Koidu City identified as Sahr Gborie has died in the Tankoro native Administrative Police cells in Koidu City Kono District.
Talking to this medium pastor Daniel Kamanda maintained that he was the one that reported the deceased to the Tankoro Native Administrative court number one in Koidu City for his motor bike which was stolen whilst in the custody of Sahr Gborie as a commercial motorbike rider.
According to pastor Kamanda, the family members of the deceased and him unanimously arranged that the sum of Eight thousand Leones in the new currency should be paid as a replacement of the stolen bike noting for May this year he received three thousand Leones in the New Currency from the family members of the deceased remaining five thousand Leones.
He said the remaining money the deceased family members accepted paying one thousand Leone monthly but to his greatest dismay this was never done and as a result, he had no option but to report the matter at the Tankoro Native Administrative court number two in Koidu City which prompted the deceased to be arrested and detained in the Tankoro Native Administrative Court Cells where he gave up the ghost.
The complainant of the stolen bike matter further pointed out that before the death of Sahr Gborie, he gave some money as feeding to the officer in charge of the cells where he was placed noting to his greatest surprise last Thursday he was called and told that Sahr Gborie has died whilst in police cells.
Sahr Kembay is the Tankoro Native Administrative police officer that was in charge of the cells the deceased was placed. He told this medium that in the early hours of last Thursday morning he visited the cells where the suspect was kept and met him alive and kicking.
“I did not only greet the deceased but I also shared with him the food my wife prepared,” Sahr Kembay noted.
He further maintained that haven visited his home upon his arrival at the Tankoro Native Administrative court cells he was told that Sahr Gborie has given up the ghost. Asked to know what was responsible for the death of the deceased whilst in Police custody?
Sahr Kembay denied knowledge of the cause of death of the deceased noting before placing him in the cells he was thoroughly searched so that he cannot do anything contrary to the laws of the cells and the state by extension.
On her part, the elder sister to the deceased Christiana Gborie told our correspondent that her younger brother was arrested at her residence on Thursday 30th July 2022 upon the mandate of Pastor Daniel Kamanda failing to go by the monthly payment as arranged.
She has therefore called on human rights activists and the police to investigate the cause of death of her younger brother. Meanwhile, the remains of Sahr Gborie were later taken to the Koidu Government Hospital mature for poster term examination whilst police investigation into the said matter continues.
