The Chief Executive Officer of Falcon Global Capital Limited, Musa Koroma in an interview with this medium said that he has landed 8000 metric tons of rice for the people of Sierra Leone, which is geared toward supporting President Bio’s food sufficiency scheme.
Mr. Koroma adds that though this is not the first time for Sierra Leone to receive such gestures he said the president is placing premium on the youths and as a Sierra Leonean it is fitting to toe the line of the president in supporting the food sector.
He said the rice is here for everyone to afford it in the market and that it will be sold at a minimum cost for all Sierra Leoneans to afford a bag. He called on all to patronize the business and vowed to continue such business depending on their support.
Mr. Koroma furthered that the President is creating a conducive atmosphere for businesses to thrive; as a result, his company was encouraged to support the country with 8,000 metric tons of rice to ease the burden of affording a bag of rice.
Mr. Koroma being a Sierra Leonean to come with a shipping vessel said he did it to liberate the people of Sierra Leone who sometimes secure the stable food at a higher cost.
He went further in assuring that the price will not be the same as the existing prices because he wants every Sierra Leonean to afford it at a minimum cost.
“Our prices will be different from them as we’re catering for the people, and we cannot give it out free but we want to continue doing this, so whatever profit we get we can bring in more rice for our people” he stated.
Mr. Koroma intimated that are different types of the 8000 tons of rice (160,000 bags ) but with one brand name Per Excellence and these are the Choice in many homes, which are 25% broken, Par Excellence -long grains 25% broken, and Eagle Good Life which is also 25% broken.
Koroma said as he wishes to change the business narrative of foreigners controlling the economy and the business sectors he therefore urged Sierra Leoneans to come in and help the government in needy areas.
He assured all that this will not be the last time and that more vessels are on their way to Sierra Leone.
