Leni Peters have been sentenced to 20years Imprisonment by Justice Alhaji Momoh Jah Stevens at the Sexual offences court No.7 in Freetown on Friday 1st July 2022.

The accused person was standing trial of Sexual Penetration Contrary to section 19 of the Sexual Offences Act of 2012, Act No.12 of 2012 as Repealed and Replaced by section 4 (a) (ii) of the Sexual offences (Amendment) Act of 2019 Act No.8 of 2019.

According to the particulars of offence the accused person Leni Nelley Peters on 30th December 2021 at Freetown in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone engaged in an Act of Sexual Penetration with a 14 years disabled child.

Justice Alhaji Momoh Jah Stevens in his submission said that he is left with no option other than to sentence the accused to 20years Imprisonment because he said the accused knew that the child was disable, insane and an underage child.

He stated that with all those circumstances given the accused person Leni Nelley Peters overpowered and forcefully had sexual intercourse with the victim.

The accused was represented by A. Kargbo Esq and state Prosecutors were J.B Kamara Esq and M.E.Sesay Esq.

Accused person was sentenced to 20 years.
