Sierra Leone’s Senior National Team (Leone Stars) has dropped five places down in the latest FIFA Ranking for June 2022.
Sierra Leone’s senior national team plays two matches in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers they played against the Super Eagles of Nigeria on the 9th June 2022 in the AFCON opener they lost by two goals to one (2-1) and on the 13th June 2022, they played against Guinea Bissau and settle to a two-all draw at the General Lansana Conte Stadium in Conakry.
In the last FIFA Ranking Sierra Leone, we’re ranked (108) in the World, but the June Ranking sees them drop five places down and ranked 25 places in Africa. They have four matches remaining in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
According to the latest ranking, Senegal is ranked (18) and the number one in Africa after an impressive performance in the last Africa Cup nations, Morocco is (25) and ranked 2nd in Africa, Egypt is ranked (30) and 3rd in Africa, Tunisia, and Nigeria are (32) and (33) in World ranking and 4th and 5th in Africa ranking.
The International ranking has adverse effects on players who may want to attract bigger clubs in the top flight league in Europe.
