Head Teacher Foday Kanu, of Wellington Muslim Association School, at Wellington was on Tuesday 7th June 2022, arrested by the Police and brought him before Magistrate Hadiru K. Daboh of Court No 3 in Freetown has detained today by the said Magistrate.
The Head Teacher was brought on Bench Warrant issued sometime in November 2021. It was alleged that this Head Teacher provided his school compound (aided) as passage to Idrissa Koroma and 9 others to steal 1,930 Jerry Cans of Paddi Vegetable Cooking Oil valued Le five hundred and twelve million, nine hundred and forty thousand five hundred and fifteen Leones six cent (515, 940, 515, 06), property of Pee Cee & Sons, at their Oil Factory, Jollaks, Wellington, Freetown.
Since the commencement of this matter, the said Head Teacher had evaded all the attempts to arrest him. He was surprisingly arrested in the evening on Monday 6th June 2022.
The accused person didn’t give responsible reasons to the magistrate, and was denied bail and sent to the male correctional center in Freetown.
Matter was adjourned to the 10th June 2022 for further hearing.
