Magistrate Mark Ngegba of the Pademba Road Court No.2 has on the 25th May, 2022 denied Sheka Sesay bail and remanded him to prison for alleged theft of properties worth millions of Leones
The accused was arraigned for five count offences ranging from conspiracy, robbery with aggravation and other related offences.
According to the particulars of offence on count one and two, the accused Sheka Sesay on Friday 13th May, 2022 at Regent Lorry park Regent village in Freetown, being armed with cutlass conspired with other persons unknown robed Ibrahim Koroma the following items; one I-five computer, one blue hot ten life mobile phone, and two pro 15 speakers all valued at Le 13,100,000 (thirteen million one hundred thousand Leones).
Count three to five alleged that the accused with intent assaulted and wounded Koroma in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
Leading evidence by Assistant Superintendent of police Hawa Bah prosecution Witness number one Ibrahim Koroma recognized the accused in the dock and recalled on Friday 13th May 2022 when he on boarded in a taxi together with four others going to his residence at Kossoh town. He said upon arriving at Regent, the Driver slow down and he just saw the accused approached near the taxi holding stick, drinking from a cup, adding that the accused suddenly throw the said cup on the face of the driver
He furthered stated that when they disembark from the taxi to interrogate the accused as to why he was acting such a way, he said, the accused was calling team, team, and the accused immediately went into the taxi and took away the above-mentioned properties.
According to him, he was running and came across with one Police officer named Ricky explaining to him, there the accused came from his back and hit him with a stick on his head. The witness said he apprehended the accused and officer Ricky aided him to the Regent Police Station.
Rounding his testimony, he said the Police issued to him a medical request form which he took to the Connaught hospital for medical examination. He said when he returned with the endorsed request form, statement was obtained from him
The accused was not legally represented and he cross examined the witness
However, the matter was adjourned to the 31st May, 2022.
