Ibrahim Sorie Kamara made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on two count charges to wit Conspiracy to defraud contrary to law and Obtaining money by false pretences contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence on the 19th day of December 2021 at Samuel’s Old Road, the Western area in Freetown with intent to defraud conspired together and with other persons unknown to defraud David Kamara of the  sum of four thousand united State dollars which equivalent to forty million Leones(40,000,000) with the pretext that you will facilitate her Overseas travelling program for him to Canada For job opportunity knowing same to be false, While on count two at the same place and date Obtained the said Amount from the said David Kamara knowing same to be false.

The charges were read and explained to the accused person and pleaded not guilty.

Counsel representing the accused person Zachariah Azibo Kanu applied for bail on behalf of the accused person that he is a Sierra Leonean ordinarily resident within this jurisdiction he has a fixed abode he has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to enter into his recognizance he is not a flight risk nor will he interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses he made his application pursuant to section 79 3 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965,

Magistrate Kekura granted the accused person bail in the sum of five hundred million Leones or one surety in like sum surety must be responsible citizen he or she must be gainfully employed from a recognized institution he or she should produce his or her employment letter including identity card of the said institution the surety must be resident in Freetown to be verified by the Bench and to be approved by the Deputy assistant Registrar.

 Matter adjourned to the 24th May 2022 for further hearing Assistant Superintendent of police Christiana Davies Cole ESQ Prosecuting the matter. 

In another development Ibrahim Sorie Kamara made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on two count charges to wit Conspiracy to defraud contrary to law and Obtaining money by false pretences contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence on diverse dates between Tuesday 1st February and 31st March 2021 at Kissy the western Area in Freetown with intent to defraud conspired together with other persons unknown to defraud Foday Kamara the sum of twenty million Leones(20,000,000) with the pretext that you will facilitate an Overseas travelling programme for him and his brother Aruna Kargbo to Canada to secure Job opportunity knowing the same to false on count two at the same place and date with intent to defraud obtained the sum of one thousand two hundred United States dollars equivalent to twelve million Leones (12,000,000) from Foday Kamara by falsely pretending that you will facilitate an Overseas travelling programme for him and his brother Aruna Kargbo to Canada to secure Job opportunity knowing the same to false.

The charges were read and explained to the accused person and he pleaded not guilty
