The accused persons Albert Williams and Nathaniel Williams has appeared before Magistrate Hadiru Daboh at Ross Road Magistrate Court in Freetown on the 15th February to answer to three counts charges ranging from conspiracy to defraud and obtaining money by false pretense contrary to the Laws of Sierra Leone. It was alleged that the two brothers duped one Adama Yillah (complainant) the sum of one hundred and thirty five million Leones.
According to the Police charge sheet, said that sometimes in November 2020 the accused persons conspired with other persons unknown to defraud complainant Adama Yillah, and that both accused persons obtained the sum of one hundred and thirty five million Leones for the purpose of selling to her three plots of land in Kossoh town.
However, the Lawyer representing both accused persons, M.P. George intimated the court that they are ready to pay back the money belonging to the complainant. Thirty Million Leones was paid as first installation payments in court.
On the other hand, Magistrate Daboh granted both accused person bail with conditions including the production of title deeds. They are yet to meet with the bail conditions.
Though bail has been granted them for over three weeks, they are yet to include the documents relating to the property in order to authenticate their ownership.
Magistrate Daboh promise to withhold their bail if they fail to produce the necessary documents relating to the land in question on the next adjourned date.
