31yrs old David Steven made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on two count charges to wit Conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to law and Robbery with Aggravation.
According to the particulars of offence on Monday 7th March 2022 at Regent Village, the Western Rural district in Freetown conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit Robbery with Aggravation.
On count two at the same place and date being armed with one short gun robbed of Mariama Bangura the Sum of twenty seven million Leones(27,000,000), two DVD laptop player each valued five hundred thousand Leones (500,000) two DVD player each valued three hundred thousand Leones (300,000) one Samsung Galaxy S7 mobile phone valued three million five hundred thousand Leones (3,500,000) and one Itel mobile phone valued two hundred and fifty thousand Leones(250,000) all to the total value of thirty two million three hundred and fifty thousand Leones(32,350,000) and the time of or immediately before or immediately after such Robbery, did use personal violence to the said Mariama Bangura.
The charges were read to the accused person and no plea taken, there was no lawyer to represent him.
Magistrate Kekura refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown and adjourned the matter to 28th March 2022 for further hearing. Sergeant 9155 Dwight Macarthy prosecuting.
