The First lady Madam Fatima Bio has over the weekend thrilled woman, supporters of both the ruling party and the opposition in her triumphant entry into Bombali by providing 300,000 cervical cancer injections and sanitary pads.
She based her message on two aspects which is sanitary pads for school going girls and cervical cancer.
She started by thanking the crowd for their tremendous supports during the 2018 election and for voting her husband as the nation’s President.
Though the process was misunderstood by many as political, however, it was in the interest and future of the girls, she narrated.
Madam Bio decided to sensitize the Bombali people on the issue of cervical cancer as the recent trap or illness that is taking the lives of many women after malaria. She explained that the medication is only meant for children and if taken before they reach 15 years of age there is possibility for her not to be diagnosed of cancer.
She implored the audience to do personal research on the said topic so that others might not influence their judgment on what they know.
She disclosed that international partners have donated 300,000 cervical cancer injections to Sierra Leone to be administered to children under 15 years.
She called on parents to allow their children to take the injections as that will prevent them from cancer.
She encouraged the people of Bombali to move away from politics and focus on development of the country and that which will bring benefits for.
She further extends olive branch to the opposition party supporters that they should embrace development for the sake of Sierra Leone and described them as her friend.
“We cannot solve all the problems of the women, but this regime will do the needful to tackle the most important ones,” she said.
She further assured the women’s wing of the Sierra Leone People’s party to work in unity as they all have one agenda and to meet such she calls for hard work and oneness amongst themselves.
