In the wake of the consultative meeting of the Tongo International Solutions (TIS) held in Freetown on 11th January 2022, members unanimously resolved that fund-raising ventures should be undertaken through the distribution of letters to various stakeholders, that a national account should be opened where monies donated must be deposited, that rehabilitation of the Tongo Field, former National Diamond Mining Company Hospital must be done in phases once the work commences and that a remembrance service be held for all deceased members.
Top among the fundraising activities is the dinner and dance to be held on 5th February this year with the American Super Combo Dance Band live at the Murray Deen Preparatory School Hall, 21 Sir Samuel Lewis Road at 9: pm where top artists like band leader, Sean, Abu Kay, Mariama, Emmanuel and others will perform live with their new instruments.
Mrs. Fatmata Claire Carlton Hanciles and Ambassador Soulay Daramy will serve as Masters of Ceremony at this event.
Entrance fee for the dinner and dance is Le100, 000.
According to Mrs. Fatmata Claire Carlton Hanciles, the newly-elected TIS National President, TIS has also opened a branch in neighboring Guinea for descendants, friends and well-wishers of Tongo Fields and Lower Bambara Chiefdom resident in Guinea. The branch was launched on Sunday 16th January this year at Nongo Conteyah (University of Nongo).
Mrs. Fatmata Claire Carlton Hanciles encouraged all indigenes of Lower Bambara Chiefdom to attend all the fundraising activities for the rehabilitation of the former National Diamond Mining Company (NDMC) Hospital in Tongofields to be renamed the Dr. James Anthony Samba Memorial Hospital.
Two fund-raising activities will be organized by the Tongo International Solutions in Freetown and Tongo respectively for the rehabilitation of the former NDMC hospital in Tongofields, Lower Bambara Chiefdom, Kenema District.
According to the global Secretary General of TIS, Mr. Amadu Daramy, fondly called Wyseman who is based in Maryland in the United States, the dilapidated hospital structure that has been abandoned for decades since the rebels vandalized it would be rehabilitee by members of TIS both at home and abroad.
He informed that in memory of the late national president of TIS, Dr. Anthony Samba who worked tirelessly at the hospital for over 20 years, Members of TIS have decided to rename the hospital, the Dr. James Samba Memorial Hospital as was suggested by Mrs. Fatmata Claire Carlton Hanciles, the newly-elected TIS National President and unanimously approval by the entire executive.
The global president of TIS, Mr. Abdulai Kabba, who is currently in Freetown, disclosed that fundraising activities would be held in the future in the United States while the one to be held in Sierra Leone is being organized by both the national and global chapters of the organization.
He called on all indigenes, fiends and well-wishers of the chiefdom to patronize TIS in all its fundraising activities on 5th February in Freetown and 13th February in Tongofields respectively.
