Haja Isatu Kabia 30 year old nurse a Sierra Leonean residing at Easton Street in made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Magistrate court no 1 in Freetown on 1 count charge of larceny contrary to section 2 of the larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence the accused person on Monday 18th October 2021 at 9 Upper Savage Square Freetown, in the Freetown Judicial District in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, stole one Lon log line with Registration number 04221849559 property of Unis Kassim Kamara.
The Defence Counsel A I Barrie applied for bail on behalf of the accused pursuant to section 79(3) of Criminal Procedure Act No.32 of 1965. Defence Counsel stated that the accused person is a Sierra Leonean ordinarily resident in Freetown. He said the accused has a reliable surety who is ready to enter into recognisance.
The accused person was arrested on warrant and brought to court. The accused pleaded not guilty when the charge was read and explained.
However, Magistrate Sahr Kekura granted the accused person bail in the sum of fifty million Leone (Le50, 000 000) or one surety in like sum.
The surety must be an elderly person. The sureties must be resident in the Western Area and they should produce their respective identity cards to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar (DAR).
Sergeant 9155 McCarthy prosecuting the matter adjourned to the 27th January 2022.
